Help Plan & Run The Burn

Volunteer During Alchemy

One of the most important and rewarding things you can do to help out is to work a volunteer shift at the burn.

No matter what your skills or interests are there’s a team at the burn that can use your help. If you’re into cultivating artists, or building things, want to make sure everyone is safe, spread the word about important information, or build community outside the burn, we can find a place to use your passion and skills.

Join the Event Team

Ready to step into a leadership role with the team that plans and runs Alchemy? Openings for department and team leads are announced between December and March.

Info - Manages dissemination of information pre-event and on-site.

Safety - Manages fire safety & EMS relationships, oversees rangers, sound and tranquility base.

D6 - Actively cultivates volunteerism throughout the larger community and interactions with theme camps.

Art - Manages onsite art projects & art grants, mutant vehicles, center camp and conclave.

Operations - Oversees city build, structures, public works and manages contracts with operations vendors.

Admin - Manages budgeting, event proposals, permitting, insurance.

Volunteer Inventives

As a thanks to our amazing volunteers, Alchemy offers ticket incentives based on the number of hours volunteered the previous burn year. All volunteers who meet the requirements below either at the event or outside the event in volunteer positions will be eligible:

8 hrs ⮚ 1 full-price reserve ticket

16 hrs ⮚ 1 half-price reserve ticket

24 hrs ⮚ 1 free reserve ticket

Our '“burn year” starts build weekend and continues until the summer after when we offer tickets. So if you’re helping out at the burn in 2023, that means you’ll get ticket incentives for Alchemy 2024. If you’re in a leadership position working throughout the year in 2024, you’ll get the ticket incentive for that year.

Board Members & Officers

Flashpoint Artists Initiative is a community run non-profit that runs the Alchemy and Euphoria burns and supports the arts in the Southeast. Our mission is to create spaces for the expression of art.

FAI is run by a community-elected Board of Directors who serve two-year terms. Applications to the board are solicited from the community at large yearly, typically in November or December. If you’re interested in joining the board leadership or becoming an organization officer keep an eye out for announcements on our website, newsletter and social media accounts.
