Center camp is exactly what it sounds like, the center of the burn. Here a variety of events are hosted throughout the burn and whoever is in charge of center camp is at the center of the action. Such as yoga lessons, DJ sets, dance parties, art shows, workshops, socials, educational discussions, or maybe even a tea party. It is also used as a location for the board and EC to slot time for discussions with the community. It is a centralized area for burners to congregate and participate in events conducted by volunteers, take a walk through time with the history of Alchemy exhibit and see a blast from the past with images of Effigies from earlier events. For our Center Camp lead, they will need to take charge of organizing and actualizing the tent for all this to occur in. They will need to be able to maintain organization amongst the chaos and keep the space maintained before, during and after the event.

CENTER CAMP Lead Responsibilities

  • Publish and promote all things Center Camp

  • Actively encourage a variety of performers and hosts to participate

  • Manage schedules for performers, participants, and volunteers

  • Developing a budget for the team

  • Preparing a post event report (+Delta)

  • Establishing a team to assist in the following:

    • Creating a comfortable, creative, centralized space where burners can create and participate in a variety of activities

    • Setting up the performance stage

    • Setting up and maintenance of space, including maintaining the PA system, lighting, LNT and schedules for performances

    • Procuring and setting up all decorations for the space

    • Procuring and setting up all furniture for the space

    • Host and work closely with the art team on art gallery & history of Alchemy art exhibits
