2023 POLICY UPDATE: Fire Safe Structure Materials

The city of Chattahoochee Hills is asking Alchemy to make sure that the fabrics used for shade structures are properly treated with a fire retardant by the manufacturer. If you are a theme camp organizer or are bringing a structure larger than a 10x10 popup for personal use or multiple structures, make sure to read the policy update.

Theme camps can apply for funds to purchase fire safe material versions of your existing shade structures:

Alchemy 10 Principles Survey

This year's Education team has created a 10 Principles survey we would like YOU to fill out! Yeah, you, the one over there with the face.

We are wanting to learn about all the different ways you have interacted with the Principles at burns. It could be something you did, someone you know, or merely something you witnessed. It could even just be an idea or example you have. Regal us with your experiences and wisdom! Have fun with it!

Our aim is to use these responses for various activities, such as quests, our 10 Principles spinning wheel game, bingo. Some may also be used for signs. Who knows, we may even put one of these responses on a blimp!

Large Art Burn [LAB] Applications Now Open

Burners! WHAT ARE WE BURNING THIS YEAR? The Art Department is looking for builders, visionaries, and designers to create and build this years [LAB's]

What are LABs you ask? Large Art Burns are just what they sound like. They are very large sculptures, structures, and art pieces that we burn, such as the Effigy and Temple, or other big pieces of art we set on fire.

Do you enjoy creating large scale pieces of art and watching them ignite? Do you like to get rope burns, run chain saws, sweat, and get splinters? Do you want to watch thousands of hippies cheer while your hard work becomes the focal point of the entire event? If so, this may be your thing.

Building a LAB takes a tremendous amount of skills, labor and commitment. If you are submitting for a design our theme this year is Ghost Robot Resurrection - so please keep that in mind with your ideas. If you have the skills and want to be part of the LAB Tech teams, but don’t have a design in mind, you can apply here too.

How to apply

Step 1: Fill out the application for LAB Leadership.

Step 2: Then if you have a design, send us your designs, drawings, photos, research, and artist statements in an email to art@alchemyburn.com

If you have any questions e-mail us at art@alchemyburn.com

The deadline for submission is [7/18] and we will make our decisions by - 7/31.

πŸ‘»πŸ€– Any and all subjects/themes are welcome, but priority will be given to pieces that represent this year's theme: Ghost Robot Resurrection.

✨ Our goal is to display 50+ pieces of 'flat' art in a gallery at Center Camp. We would love to showcase original pieces as well, but we understand you may not want it damaged - we will have the option to print your art on flat canvas for display. The recommended maximum size is 24" x 24".

⚠️ Donated art is not guaranteed to be returned unharmed, although we plan for your art to be be treated with the utmost respect! Volunteer Gallery Curators will do their best to encourage respectful art appreciation, but it will not be protected 24/7. We recommend choosing a print if you are concerned for the safety of your original work of art.
